Thanks to the Annie Bannister District Girl Guides, the 41 Rangers, the 94 Guides and the 136 Brownies, a bunch of beautiful fruit trees and bushes were planted at the Community Garden and we made it into the Neighbours section of the Calgary Herald! Looking good!!!
The Chaparral Community Green Thumbs would like to truly thank all the volunteers for coming out on build day. It was amazing to see the garden develop throughout the day and we couldn’t have done it with all of your hard work and dedication!! Build day was a true testament of how a community can pull together to accomplish anything.
Come join us for the grand opening of the Chaparral community garden! It’s a family event! Kids bouncers, crafts and a face painter to keep your kids busy and having fun. Hot dogs, chips and water for $3 and free apples/oranges donated from Superstore, Shawnessy. Celebrate with us!
Saturday May 12, 2012!!! We will be recruiting lots of volunteers to help us build our entire community garden on this day! No experience is necessary and there will be lots of fun to be had by all! Those who help us out on build day will be given priority on choosing a plot, so if you are hoping to garden with us, be sure to come on out! Bring your signed contract as well. If you are interested in volunteering with the Chaparral Green Thumbs or have any questions, please drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
